In 1985, our founder Joe Luoma patented a new drumstick (US Patent No. 4,535,671) using bundled birch dowels, and Rods were born.  In partnership with one of the top percussion companies, Rods became a staple in stick bags across the world giving drummers a stick that bridged the gap between a turned wood stick and brushes.

 

Through constant innovation and process improvement, Solid Breed has remained the premier manufacturer and supplier of Rods. We offer a variety of Rod models and have expanded into brushes and other unique products to serve the musical instrument industry.
